Victory Park Capital Appoints Olibia Stamatoglou as Chief Financial Officer
CHICAGO – October 29, 2019 – Victory Park Capital (“VPC”), a leading global alternative investment firm, announced today that Olibia Stamatoglou has been appointed chief financial officer. Based in Chicago, Stamatoglou will oversee the finance and accounting functions of the firm and assist in compliance and other business and fund operations.
Stamatoglou assumes the role from Jeff Schneider, who joined the firm as chief financial officer in 2010. In January 2018, Schneider was promoted to chief operating officer, continuing to serve in his role as chief financial officer, until the firm could find a replacement. Stamatoglou will take over the role of chief financial officer, effective October 28, and Schneider will continue to act as chief operating officer and chief compliance officer for VPC. As part of the transition, Andrew Murray has been promoted to senior vice president of operations, continuing to oversee treasury, reporting and analytics, valuation and other operational aspects of the VPC funds.
“I am excited to have Olibia join VPC and believe she is well positioned to lead the finance and accounting team in further developing operational excellence and a strong control environment across the firm,” said Richard Levy, founder and chief executive officer of VPC. “During his tenure as CFO over the last nine years, Jeff has done an amazing job and his contributions have been critical in the firm’s growth. His leadership will be instrumental in continuing to support the firm as we scale and broaden our investment management offerings.”
Stamatoglou brings more than 20 years of industry experience to VPC. Most recently, she served as vice president of finance at Valor Equity Partners where she managed all firm and fund finance activities. Prior to Valor, Stamatoglou served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of First National Assets, a specialty finance private equity group specializing in tax lien purchases and real estate owned ventures. She joined First National Assets from Aurora Investment Management where she progressed through several accounting roles. Stamatoglou graduated from DePaul University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance.
“We have been searching for the right candidate to transition oversight of the accounting and finance responsibilities and continue to build on the strong institutional foundation that VPC has developed over the last twelve years,” said Jeff Schneider, chief operating officer and partner at VPC.
“Given the rate of our growth, it’s essential for VPC to have a skilled CFO who can successfully undertake this important role, and we’re confident that Olibia’s background and experience will be additive to our leadership team,” added Brendan Carroll, co-founder and senior partner at VPC.
