Ascent Aviation Services Opens For Business

Ascent Aviation Services (ASCENT) commenced operations on November 10, 2009 at its facilities located at the Tucson International Airport in Tucson, Arizona. ASCENT is an FAA approved repair station specializing in narrow body commercial aircraft, providing aircraft heavy maintenance, line maintenance, modification services, transition services, aircraft storage, paint, disassembly and consignment parts sales.

ASCENT purchased the assets of Hamilton Aerospace Technologies, Inc. and World Jet Corporation and has retained a substantial base of skills and experience from those two companies. Since 2002, ASCENT’s workforce has completed over 400 heavy maintenance and modification visits on the 737 classic and MD-80 fleets which will continue to be ASCENT’s core fleet types.

ASCENT’s facilities in Tucson consist of a 23 acre concrete ramp area, a two bay hangar with paint capability, secure aircraft parking and extensive warehouse space. ASCENT’s technicians have an average of 21 years of aircraft maintenance experience, allowing them to perform an extensive array of complex services.

ASCENT is owned by Victory Park Capital, a Chicago-based asset management firm with a growing commercial aircraft portfolio. “We are thrilled with the substantial base of skills and experience here in Tucson” said Matthew Ray, ASCENT’s CEO. “We have already started investing in this business with extensive onsite guidance from an internationally known aviation consultancy. Our objective is to become one of the premier narrow body maintenance providers in North America by providing indisputable value complemented by the highest quality professional service. We will continue to focus on the 737 and MD80 fleets to leverage our significant experience for the benefit of our customers.”
