Silver Airways Corp. announced today that it will relocate its maintenance department from its home base in Fort Lauderdale to a new, state-of-the-art 61,000 square-foot facility at Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV). The move was announced at a press event held today at the new facility attended by GNV officials, local business leaders and Silver Airways executives led by CEO Darrell Richardson.
“This move is another important step forward in our drive to become the number-one regional airline in the country,” said Richardson. “With all its advanced technology, large size and convenient location, this facility offers everything we need to support our existing flight operations, as well as continue our growth to exciting new markets.”

Silver Airways’ new maintenance facility covers 61,000 square-feet and is located on the southwest quadrant of Gainesville Regional Airport. It consists of approximately 45,000 square-feet of air-conditioned hangar space. Support areas include a 10,800 square-foot maintenance section and a 5,400 square -foot customer service area. The height of the hangar doors (24 feet) and thickness of the hangar floor accommodates regional airlines such as the Saab 340Bplus and Beechcraft 1900D aircraft that comprise the current Silver Airways fleet.
