Mark Simon
Mark Simon has over 24 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
He is currently an advisor to Torreya Partners and a business development consultant to a variety of emerging biotechnology and specialty pharmaceutical companies. From 1984 to 2005 Mark raised over $30 billion for life science companies (over 175 transactions including M & A deals and 50 IPOs). Previously, Mark was Managing Director and Head, Life Sciences Investment Banking at Citigroup, with a focus on the biotechnology, large pharmaceutical and specialty pharmaceutical sectors as well as client coverage in Europe and Japan. Prior to joining Citigroup in 2002, Mark was employed at Robertson Stephens for 13 years. He joined Robertson Stephens in 1989 as a Health Care Research Analyst, during which time he was voted a Wall Street Journal All-Star Analyst for three years in a row. From 1999 to 2001, Mark raised 45% of total, public biotechnology dollars and managed 20% of all deals completed in the biotechnology space during this time frame. Mark received a BA from Columbia University in 1984 and an MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1989.
