Eric Upin
Eric Upin is the Chief Investment Officer at Makena Capital Management.
From 2005 to 2008, Eric was the Chief Investment Officer and a Managing Director at The Stanford Management Company, Stanford University’s endowment fund. Prior to Stanford, Eric spent 13 years on Wall Street as a senior institutional equity research analyst covering enterprise software, business services and other technology sectors. From 2002 to 2004, Eric was the director of technology research at Wells Fargo Securities, and from 1993 to 2002, he was a Senior Partner and Managing Director in equity research at Robertson Stephens, an internationally recognized investment bank. Previously, Eric spent four years at the management consulting firm Booz Allen & Hamilton in a variety of industries and roles. Eric received a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1983 from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1989.
